Grease Monkey Budapest
Budapest is one of those cities that completely captures your heart. With its majestic architecture, vibrant cultural scene, and the perfect blend of Eastern and Western Europe. It’s a place that feels both timeless and constantly evolving. I had the privilege of living in Budapest for six months, and during that time, I explored everything from iconic landmarks to underground hidden gems.
After long days wandering through historic streets, thermal baths, and stunning viewpoints, I always found myself drawn to one particular spot to unwind. Grease Monkey Budapest.
By far, it’s my favorite bar in the city. Stepping inside feels like entering a futuristic spaceship, with its fantastic sci-fi theme that immediately sets it apart from anything else in town. The owner is incredibly friendly, the beer is cheap, and the whiskey selection is out of this world.
Of course, no trip to Budapest is complete without visiting the famous ruin bars, which are a must-see for first-timers and absolutely something I recommend. But if you’re looking for something less touristy, more local, and completely different, then Grease Monkey is your place. It’s the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring this magical city — and experience a side of Budapest that many visitors miss.
