Discover Central America

Central America is one of the most biodiverse and stunning regions on the planet. Squeezed between two oceans, this narrow strip of land packs in everything: lush rainforests, active volcanoes, deserted Pacific beaches, Caribbean coastlines, howler monkeys, and some of the warmest people you’ll ever meet.

It was always on my radar, but I never imagined it would captivate me the way it did. The moment I arrived in Costa Rica, I understood why so many travelers end up staying far longer than planned. There’s a pace of life here — shaped by nature, by the jungle sounds, by the ocean — that makes it very hard to leave.

Why Central America?

Honestly, I didn’t plan to come here. Like many things in my travels, Central America happened organically. After months in South America, a friend mentioned Costa Rica and something clicked. It was close, it was different, and it had been on my list for years.

What I found was a place that felt untouched in the best possible way. Not undeveloped — Costa Rica has great infrastructure and a strong eco-tourism culture — but genuinely wild. Waterfalls hidden in the jungle, whale tails emerging from the sea, sloths hanging from trees right above the path.

Costa Rica

My first stop in Central America was Costa Rica, and it blew me away. The wildlife, the landscapes, the “Pura Vida” attitude — it all lives up to the reputation. I spent time in Uvita, a small town on the Pacific coast known for its whale-shaped sandbar and incredible marine life.
